We just saw an interesting TV detective drama which Kyoko's mom recorded in Japan. It starred Ichiro (Suzuki), star baseball player from the Seattle Mariners. In the TV show, he played himself. It's not too unusual for famous celebrities to play themselves in a fictional drama... However, in this case, he was also the guilty party (murderer). It was interesting to see how the story would unfold and whether the detective would catch him. If I understood correctly, the story was actually written about a fictional baseball star with Ichiro in the starring role... but then Ichiro said that he wanted for the character in the movie to be himself.
Anyway, I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone who may see this show. (Of course, it is in Japanese, so I would recommend for you to brush up on your Japanese.)
PS. Japan won the inaugural World Baseball Classic. WBC is like baseball's version of the World Cup.
